Margin and Markup Calculator
Formula
Difference = sale price − cost. Margin = difference ÷ sale price × 100. Markup = difference ÷ cost × 100.
Example
Example: sale price 10,000 and cost 7,500 gives 2,500, 25%, and 33.33%.
Use a decimal point (.) and up to six decimal places; do not enter commas, currency symbols, or exponents. Amounts use the same unit.
Results are rounded to two decimal places. Nonzero values that round to zero are shown as a range and cannot be copied as a number.
The difference does not include taxes, shipping, or operating costs; it is not net profit.
Limits
Amounts are 0 to 1,000,000,000,000. A negative difference is a loss; a zero divisor has no rate.
